Another mile stone has passed!

Basement fire place.

Living room fire place.

Okay...I just need to brag a little bit. I did an awesome job of picking the rock and siding! LGH did pick the river rock and he did give his opinion on the exterior colors. So, I guess I can't take ALL the credit...just MOST of it!

Thanksgiving

Yum! Yum!
SHH decided to finish eating by the "fire".

We had a great Thanksgiving Dinner! Thanks to the Turner Family and Grandma & Grandpa A! They were able to come help us on our house. We had a "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner in our semi-finished basement. It was great!

Ouch!! for SJH.

I, SJH, was injured on the afternoon of 11-16-08. By not watching where I was stepping and stepping on a nail! To cheer me up I thought of the incident where I got hit on the head with a golf ball! Luckily that was worse so I didn't worry that much, I am also up-to-date on my tetanus so I was fine! The main thing that helped me is at church there was a talk that was titled Why Me. It was about not getting mad at God about something that went wrong that you think he could've changed and don't quetion blessings that he gives you. I used that the very day I heard it and I am so happy I was paying attention. It may have hurt but will heal!

NLH 'accidently' gave me 'Jeff' (my bump from the golf ball incident) Time to get him back! That is the picture. The other is of Jeff!

She was so worried...

NLH has been sick the last few days. Zoie has been very worried about him. When he would lay on the floor, she would be right next to him. She got in trouble when she tried to lay on the couch by him. This was her solution. If she couldn't lay BY him, she would lay ON him.

Inside

Looking in from the front door.Looking at the kitchen.
The upstairs is almost all wired. LGH's cousin came to help us wire. He is an electrician in SV. His help has been AWESOME! He has given us lots of advice as well as running the wire. We should have power to our house within the next week or two (as soon as the power company comes to run the wires from the street to the house). It has been so wonderful to have SO MANY friends and family come help!

Wrestling

NLH has decided to wrestle this year. He is doing pretty good. Check out this awesome match!

Shingles...done!

Yea! We have the garage windows in. Our house has "character" now!
Last weekend we dug the trench for our utilities. NLH had a little too much fun running the excavator!

SJH finally on...

Hey, it's SJH! I finally got to write somethin' on the blog! I took part in getting JAH to make the blog. Anyway I'm in 6th grade! I go to Centennial Jr. High! I finally got a locker! I mean how do you even stand those itty-bitty hooks at the elementary? They're just tiny! I mean they might break when you put your books in your bag. even my 5th grade teacher agrees! So my life has been smooth (so far I'm only 11). So I'm in Spanish and I love to practice speaking and learning their culture. I'm the only one in the Spanish class who has a septiembre or octubre (September or October) birthday. I wish I could have somethin' to do now since volleyball is over. I am going to be Samwise Gamgee for Halloween. I better go I've written a bunch. So I will get on latter!

Antelope Hunt 2008

Check out the harvest of our antelope hunt this year!

Making Progress...

We have started putting shingles on our roof, and we have gotten most of our windows in. Last weekend was VERY productive! THANK YOU JJ & HJ FOR BEING HERE TO HELP! We could not have gotten as much done with out their help. It was awesome to have them here. Also, thanks to those who helped watch their kids so they could concentrate on helping us. We are so blessed to have wonderful family members and friends that are willing to help.

Sports

NLH #17

SJH #55

With two kids in Jr. High, it includes more "extra curricular" activities. NLH is playing football. He is the center on offense and linebacker and defensive end on defense. SJH is playing volleyball. She is doing good and enjoying it. The season is over for both of them the end of September. GO EAGLES!

Trusses

Front
North side

Back/South sides

Well, the trusses are on! Now it is the big job of sheeting the roof. It is definitely not a job for anyone who doesn't like heights (meaning JAH). NLH enjoys scaring his mother while he swings from the rafters! Thanks to all that have been able to come help! It is SO appreciated!

Making progress...

One wall to go...
Hmmm....that doesn't look like he is working!
Well, the 'house' is framed! We just have one more wall in the garage and we will have all the exterior walls up!!! As you can tell, NLH got a new toy. He has decided he wants to fly fish. When we didn't need him to stand a wall, he was walking around practicing with his new fly rod.

Vacation 2008

Cheif Joseph Highway.
On top of the Beartooth Mtns. with snow in the background!
This horse is made of Chain Link welded together.
The Museum of the Rockies...
In front of the Museum of the Rockies.
This week we took a short break from 'the ordinary', and went on a vacation/business (for LH) and went to Bozeman, MT. LH needed to go to a mine near there to measure a truck so he can design a staircase for it. We took the 'scenic route' in stead of the interstate. It was a beautiful drive. We stopped on top of the Beartooth Mountains to enjoy the sites. It was 51 degrees! And yes, that is SNOW in the background. NLH and SJH enjoyed a little snowball fight while the rest of us sat in the blazer trying to stay somewhat warm! Needless to say, this road is closed in the winter since there is snow there in August. The kids and I spent the first morning swimming while LH went to take care of the 'business'. In the afternoon we went to the Museum of the Rockies on the MSU campus. It was fun to spend time together with out working! Day two we did some shopping and headed back home. This time we went on a different scenic route. It was great! It is so amazing how different mountains can look.

Fishing for FHE

We took a break for FHE and went fishing (Nelson's finally got what he has been asking for) instead of working on the house. It was a little warm, but everyone enjoyed it! See the catch of the day...an old hat!:)
